Time
Time

There is a woman in our Women's Bible Study group who meets through Zoom each morning with her sisters who live across the country. They have bible study. I have always loved this. They take the time to meet, a quick few minutes to catch up, and then to study God's word. I have heard more and more "I just don't have time." Stop! Hold up! As our pastor said one day, "Everybody has the same amount of time in a day, 24 hours!" That is so true. Not one person has more or less than another. We use our time differently. I do realize at this point some are adamantly stating that some people don't have as much to do as others. One lady in our bible study class has a tiny baby. Yet, every time we meet, her lesson is ready and she has notes. She has three other children who also take her time. One lady has two children, cares for her mother-in-law, and helps her husband as needed. She is very active in church, yet she has the same 24 hours I have. There are so many who work, care for families, have job responsibilities, care for or spend time with parents and grandchildren, and are active in church.

Colossians 3:16 "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God". I believe that as Christians we are to uplift one another. We are to provide care, love, support, feed, and care for if necessary, and gently remind each other of God's promises and his requirements as Christians that we are serve Him. These are all things as Christians we do, or should do. Do I do these at all times? No, but I try.

Some people say I don't have time to read or study my bible. I don't have time for extra lessons. I don't have time for an additional bible study class. Guilty! Yet, I see Christians doing this every day. So I say, Hold up! Put the phone down from scrolling Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, or social media of some sort. Stop playing the game you take a few minutes to play. Put away the book or turn off the movie. Do what my husband does and read in the restroom. (Oh, I'm in trouble now! hehe)

Hebrews 4:12 says, "For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart." When we spend time in God's word, his word becomes part of us. We build a deeper relationship with Him. We understand His direction and discernment. His word truly is "a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
