Alone

Good morning. My husband, Allan, and I have been watching a series called "Alone". We are now in Season 7. Of course, it is about people who try to live in remote places all by themselves, completely alone. While sitting in Sunday School service and reading about John spending time in the wilderness, my husband nudged me. We often nudge, give looks, and sometimes even snicker at things that remind us of how we are, have acted, something we've done, or even something we have said.

Luke 1:80 NIV states "And the child grew and became strong in spirit; and he lived in the wilderness until he appeared publicly to Israel." As John grew, he spent time in the wilderness preparing and growing in God. He was tested and faced trials. Sometimes we need to be alone in our wildness (circumstances) and rely completely on God. Commune with Him. Grow in his knowledge and let Him lead us. That is relying completely on God. I think our struggles are specifically designed to bring us to the point we are "alone" with God and He can teach us.
