If you know me, you know I love data. My dissertation was qualitative and quantitative. I had over 85 charts and tables in Chapter 3. As an educator, I use data to guide instruction, track student progress, and ensure I am meeting my students'needs. As a principal, I used data for pretty much the same purpose. I strive to do the best in whatever circumstance I find myself.

A couple of nights ago, my husband and I were talking with our youngest on the phone. I made the comment to him that I had found the analytics on my blog. I was immersed in the data from my site. I was disparaging the fact that I had only 5 views that day. My husband popped up and quickly stated that "Actually, you had only 2, it took me 3 to get through it!". Wow. There was that wow moment again. This time I had two reactions as my son laughed. Wow, I can't believe you just said that. And, Wow, that was a good one. We both laughed and then my son added. "Mom, don't look at the analytics. It doesn't matter how many views you have as long as the one sees it." Wow! Again! You see, he often calls me "Sister Mary". Lovingly, of course. He isn't one to talk of spiritual things. But he completely understands what the purpose is and doesn't need data to validate.

Galatians 1:10 states, "For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.". We all seek that validation. I needed that reminder for not only this, but in so many areas of my life. What a reminder of seeking Him.
