Empty Cup…

My husband and I were talking this past week. I mentioned how tired I was. He said, “Your cup is empty.” WOW! That was a close my mouth, open my mind, and think moment. He is right. I need to go to the pot and fill my cup.
If you are a coffee drinker, you know my analogy here. That first cup of coffee in the morning; hot, strong, and in quiet. You pour the liquid in the cup. Mostly straight coffee for me. That’s my Jesus. He is strong and powerful. Matthew 28:18, “Jesus says, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me."”. He alone can fulfill my needs.
Then, I pour in a little creamer. That’s my family and friends. 1 Peter 3:8, “Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.” In my life, my family are an important part of my cupful. I know the Lord first, then family. I give God all the glory for my husband who goes to church with me, loves the Lord, and knows the need for spiritual healing. I praise Him, my Savior, for my family and leave to Him their daily care. Although, I do pray continually for their closeness in Spirit.
The cup is my life in the Lord. I am the vessel that is ready to be filled. 2 Timothy 2:21, “Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.”. I will be ready to accept what is offered. Grateful for blessings, hungry for wisdom in God’s word. Psalm 16:5, “Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure.”
