Every 5th Sunday, our church observes The Lord's Supper. This is a sacred time and experience. The last Lord's Supper, my grandson was in Children's Church and didn't get to partake. He was so upset. When I told our pastor that my grandson was upset because he didn't get to do Communion, he sat with my grandson, son, daughter-in-law, husband and I as he lead my grandson through Communion. He went through each step as if we were in the service. It was a beautiful experience for us all.
Today was the 5th Sunday. We made arrangements ahead for the ones in Children's Church who wanted to go up to their parents to have this sacred time with them. My grandson was diligent to remind me it was time for them to go. Our Children's Ministry Leader happened to be assisting in Children's Church today and explained to the others what this sacred time meant. She taught them each part of Communion and the significance. We are so blessed to have these leaders at our church. This time is recognized and celebrated as part of their spiritual growth.
I Corinthians 10:16-17, "The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread."
