Family…

Life moves quickly and time doesn’t slow down. I am a believer that God illustrates every moment and determines our path as stated in Psalms 121:3, "The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore". I also believe He expects us to be good stewards of that time given.
Although one child lives close, the other lives a few hours away. It is harder than you might think for the family to get together. Our youngest hasn’t been home since the Christmas holiday. We talk often on the phone, but getting to see each other face-to-face and hug him isn’t as often as I would like. He called this past week and asked his dad if Sunday would be okay to come home for the day. He knows Sundays are busy with church, etc. God orchestrated a beautiful Sunday to spend in worship and then with family. It occurs to me that He knows what we need, when we need it, and delights in our joys. We spent the evening with our son and his friend, mom, and then our other son, daughter-in-law, and grandson joined us.
I strive to never take for granted the time God gives us with those we love. As I am sure you understand, there are so many I don’t have anymore that I would love just one more day with. We have a precious lady in church who just lost her husband of many many years. She was my reminder today that God gives us time with loved ones. How we use that time is up to us.
I am so thankful for a God who loves me so much that He knows what I need before I breathe a prayer. Matthew 6:8 says, “Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” I am grateful and blessed.
