Oh Death…3-29-2025

I have always heard death comes in threes. Well, as we get older, I think we notice more. There is no set time or amount that will die. Since January 14th, five people I know have passed away. Three were sick for quite some time, one instantly from a heart attack and was relatively healthy, and one from wisdom teeth after a couple of weeks again before this relatively healthy. Three of these, I know I will see again in Heaven, but two I don’t know. It is okay that I don’t know as long as they did.

Job 14:5 says, “A person's days are determined; you (God) have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed.” The Bible also tells us in Psalm 139:16 that God’s “"eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

You see, before I was born God made me. Then He ordained me to do His work. He knows my weaknesses, every hair on my head, and every mistake I will make. He determined my days. I can’t change that. I don’t want to. When God says it is my time to go be in Heaven, I am ready. Until then, I will live to glorify Him. I will seek His face and His will.

Some may ask why this post. A lady I know and have spoken to about our faith, lost her husband yesterday to a massive heart attack. He was the 5th. I have a new song that I like called “O Death.” In this song, the devil uses death as a scare tactic. But if we have our faith in God, we can all say, “Yeah, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of you I know I'm just passin' through…Oh death, I will not be afraid In the end, you will lose. I will dance on your grave with the one who buried you. You ain't nothin' but a stone that my savior rolled away. Set you straight and set me free.” Mercy Me.

Too many people try to run from God thinking they can prolong what He has ordained. Scared of what happens after death. They think they can determine their path, direction, and lifespan. God does let us have free will, but make no mistake, He is in charge and in control. Do you know when He calls you at any hour that you are ready?
