Day by day our story is written. We are born, we grow, some of us marry, have children, jobs, careers, passions, hobbies that come and go, and we build our story. This is our journey. Even as young as AJ is, he is living his story. His journey is underway. Chapters are already written in his story. He turns 9 in a few days and I can see how his journey has begun to shape his life. He gave his heart to the Lord 2 1/2 years ago. His dad told him he needed to wait to be baptized until he was 7. That was almost two years ago. The day he turned 7, he expected to be baptized and was ready that day. I love that about him. He knew his heart and knew he was ready. His journey includes Jesus.
Psalm 16:11 says "You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand." AJ in his childlike faith knows joy of his salvation and knows God is directing his path, his journey. I know that He has and will direct my path, my journey. My hope comes from the Lord and my joy is in Him. Each of us has a journey of life. But, and I say it again and again, But God will give to us the assurance of our eternal salvation where our joy will never end. Our journey doesn't end with death. Our journey is eternal life.
