Mercy & Grace

I'll be short tonight as I'm still traveling home from a weekend of worship and filling my spiritual soul. I have a family waiting at home for my attention and will want to unpack all the Lord has revealed to me during this time.

However, a few take aways. God is good at being God. If we take ourselves out of the frame and let God have control, he will work all things for our good. Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." You can be sure we have a purpose.

As I listened to speakers, took notes as I always do, and thought about the people and stories, I am reminded that God is a merciful God. He knows just when we need forgiveness, a discerning voice, and reminded of His love.

We were told this weekend that the definition of mercy is not getting what we deserve and grace is getting what we don't deserve. Think about that for a minute. There is no way I could ever deserve His grace and mercy but He forgave me before I was born. He died for me before I knew Him and loved me before I sinned. He knows me and loves me anyway. My "Timothy" and I have a renewed spirit and determination to serve.
