Quiet early morning…

I love mornings. Sometimes, I wake up and watch the light push away the darkness. The birds begin their conversations. The cows move about and the dogs say "hello" to their distant neighbors down the road. The world comes alive and I once again see God's beauty.
Luke 12:2 says "“Whatever is covered up will be uncovered, and every secret will be made known.” Some people love the darkness. I am not one of them. I love the light, the openness, and the visible. I am clearcut, precise, say what I mean, and mean what I say. I don't do innuendo or generalities. I resist the darkness. I struggle with the darkness.
One of the things mentioned at our conference was that Jesus was asked 183 questions. He only answered 3 directly. One of those was the question posed to Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew 22:36-37. "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.". Jesus goes on to tell them to love their neighbor.
One of the things I love about the light is that your can see. You can see the love of God. Your can see the faces of others and you can see the actions. Loving God requires us to live like Christ. It requires us to love like Christ. You cannot hide that love. It cannot be done. You can look into the face, eyes, and life of a believer and see the light of God. The light that radiates from within. There is nothing hidden. Good reveals in us our sins, our love, and our service.
The other thing I love about the light, it banishes the darkness. The darkness cannot exist with the light. The light overshadows and dispels the darkness. There are shadows that creep in, but the light pushes them away. In the light, I am safe. In Christ, I am loved. In the light you cannot hide. His mercies are new every morning and I see the light...
