Worship…

It is Sunday morning! My grandson spent the night, and that means I’m up earlier than usual on a Sunday. I’m in my spot, drinking my coffee, and answering his usual barrage of questions. Right, Moppy?
I made the comment one time that I take worship service very seriously. I love the music, the words in the songs, the scripture, the message, and the Holy Spirit. But, as I think about my comment, I failed to realize something most important. Worship is not in a specific place. Worship is between the person and the Lord. I have begun to truly understand that as I worship in the car on the way to work. I worship in the quiet of my classroom when the students are gone. I worship my Lord even when my students are present. I worship with my cup in my quiet spot. When I come to the Lord, I am in worship. Anytime, I am in His presence, listening to Him, talking to Him, praying to Him, and reading His word, I am in fellowship (worship) with Him.
Moses and the Israelites worshipped God on the other side of the Red Sea. They worshipped in song. Exodus 15:2, ““The Lord is my strength and my defense, he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.” David worshipped God while tending sheep, in the wilderness, and in battle. Psalm 95:6, “Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!”
Psalm 150:6, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!” I will praise Him. I do praise Him.
