We are the One…9-27-25

As I sat in our last session, I listened to the speaker. To my left was a man with graying hair, white beard, and ball cap. As the speaker told about his call (and ours) to seek the one, this man’s shoulders shook. Through streams of tears, he silently wept. As the speaker continued, his voice breaking as he recounted time and time again God leading him to the one, this man wept with joy. How do I know it was joy?

I have never met this man. I don’t know his name. I don’t know where he is from, what he does for a living, or if he is a pastor, ministry leader, coach or counselor. I don’t know his story. I do know from his face, he is weeping with joy. You see, his face mirrors mine. He was once “the one”. I was once “the one”. God pursued him. He pursued me. His reaction was my own as we were sheep who were lost. God came running after us. He called us back. We know His name. He healed our wounds. He washed us clean.

Matthew 18:12-14, “12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.”

Psalm 23:1,3: “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” “He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul.” When He brought us home, He restored our soul.
