Hope…9-11-25
Hope…9-11-25

Yesterday, I wrote about a heavy heart as we witnessed the tragedy and senseless loss of life. Today is 9-11-25, I can remember exactly where I was 24 years ago when the World Trade Towers collapsed, the Pentagon was struck, and the plane went down in that Pennsylvania field. We all can. I think of Psalmist as these words were written. There was hope that God alone could provide comfort, peace, renewal, and calm in the midst of the storm. Psalm 42:11, “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.”

I had two students years ago who went on a mission trip to Ethiopia. They brought me this necklace made by ladies in the village where they ministered to children. They are my reminder that I do what I do for my kids. My students. I want them to have that hope that I feel when I pray and read God’s word. Sometimes I do have a heavy heart at all that is happening. But, and I thank God, I have hope of a promise that Jesus will come. We will have an eternal home. Until then, my hope is built on Jesus blood and righteousness.
