A Giving Heart

Over the past year, my daughter-in-law has begun to work on Monday. Our grandson’s school is on a four day week. This meant my husband had to watch the grand on Mondays. During the summer, I took over this, but back to school found him on grandson duty once again. Now mind you, my husband does not mind his grandson being with him. He just adjusts his schedule. He can still fix fences, check cows, feed hay, and work on small projects as long as outside conditions allow.
I checked in on them today, and my husband said it had been a good day. What a blessing to have a patient, loving grandfather for our grandson. Psalm 17:6, “Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of children is their fathers.” A grandparent’s role is to teach their children and children’s children, Deuteronomy 4:9. That is the purpose of which many forget. That is not something my husband takes lightly.
