Observer…

I am a people observer. I notice those around, try to pay attention to details, and love to see joy shine from within. Sometimes what people don’t say rings louder than what their voices do. In some faces, I see joy and peace. In some, I see anxiety, worry, and sadness. I often say a prayer for a renewal of God’s spirit and love for the hard times in those around.
Philippians 4:7: "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus".
There is a gentleman in our Sunday School class. He is an observer as well. He never says a word, but every Sunday, he sits in the same seat. He watches, smiles, and laughs occasionally. I have a routine that is obvious to him. Last week, when I came in to Sunday School, I noticed he had two tissues sitting beside him. I looked up after fishing for a tissue in my bag and he smiled. He knew that I would be going for the tissue box and he was ready.
You see, God knows us so well, he knows what we are thinking before we think it. He knows our coming and going. Psalm 139:2-3, which says, "You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar". He observes us, protects us, and knows us. I am still amazed that he loves me so much that my thoughts, desires, and needs are of utmost importance to Him. He loves me!
