Bothered By Raindrops...11-21-2025

I saw a shirt today, and had to order it for myself for Christmas. It said, "I've survived too many storms to be bothered by raindrops." All I have to say to that is "Hallelujah".

You see, raindrops can be present in three different instances in reality and in life. They can come as impending storms. The sky begins to darken, the clouds form, and the raindrops begin to fall lightly at first, then with intensity and ferocity. The storms rage and winds blow. In the end, it all leaves rather quickly. The raindrops foretelling of a major storm ahead. But through every moment, we see and feel His presence. Matthew 7:25, "The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock."

Raindrops also come slowly. The sun is shining, the skies open up, and the drops fall. Quietly, quickly, as in a summer shower. We don't really see signs before the actual event takes place. As quickly as the Heavens open with raindrops, the rain disappears. The Earth is replenished, and everything moves on refreshed by the blessed drops. Ezekiel 34:26, "I will make them and the places surrounding my hill a blessing. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing."

Then raindrops can come after the storm. When the wind finally calms, the Heavens open up and the rain falls sometimes lasting for days. The storm isn't raging anymore, but the remnants are there. The aftermath is raindrops as a reminder that the storm was present, but we have survived. We are sometimes battered, weathered, and worn, but we have survived. Deuteronomy 32:2, "Let my teaching drop as the rain, My speech distill as the dew, As raindrops on the tender herb, And as showers on the grass."But after the storm, the Lord's presence is vibrant in the green grass, the raindrops cascading off the branches and house. The storm's evidence visible, but the overwhelming understanding that God's grace is ever present. Yes, there is a difference in this rain, this soothing, calming, peaceful, "I made it" rain. There is a difference in each raindrop. There is a lesson in each drop of water. Each blessing, lesson, and storm gives it's own stories. Every single one can be retold for His glory for our good.
