Colors…

I love colors. I took this picture because there are so many colors in this one image. I can’t imagine a world in black and white with shades of gray. As I was looking at verses about color, I noticed that the Bible is explicit in detailing colors. The magnificent purple in Esther’s robes and Lydia who sold purple cloth. I read about the green in plants for the food of animals described in Genesis 1:30. 2 Chronicles details the vibrant colors within the temple. But in Revelations, there are so many vivid descriptions of colors. The horses, the streets of gold, the pearls, the red dragon, and white robes.
Revelations 3:5, “The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.” You see, in this scripture there are two colors, one is explicit and the other is perceived. If I am victorious, I will have eternal life. A robe of white will await me in Heaven. But, in order to receive that white robe, I must confess and believe that He is Lord. He shed his blood for me. I was covered in sin (that crimson stain), but He washed me white as snow.
I am in awe of a world this magnificent with every shade of color. But, Oh my soul looks forward to my white robe.
