Empty Tomb….

Mary watched as her Lord was crucified. She saw Him tortured hanging on the cross, and she saw Him die. Mary didn’t understand what would come to pass, she only knew grief. Her love for Jesus was evident in her service. Evident in her life. It is not surprising to me that Mary was at the tomb early that morning. John 20:1, “Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance.”
We all look to the tangible, where a person is, when we need to find them, be with them. If I search for my husband, I go to the farm. If I am looking for my grandson, I search for the sound of him calling my name. Mary knew Jesus was put in the tomb. That is where she went. But, praise God, the tomb was empty. Did Mary understand? No, she assumed someone had taken his body. She wept for the absence of what was an earthly body.
You see, our hope is not in the tangible, the present. Our hope is in the unseen. The presence of Jesus in our life can’t be measured by His physical. It is His presence in us, calling us, guiding us, and leading us. We don’t find Jesus in one place. We find Him everywhere. We don’t seek for the physical. We seek for the spiritual. Jeremiah 29:13, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
I, for one, am blessed there is an empty tomb. He left the tomb and He entered my heart. Psalm 34:4, "I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears,"
