Finding My Blessed…10-13-24
Finding My Blessed…10-13-24

There is a gentleman my husband and I have watched change over the past few years. He struggled with addiction, came to Jesus, backed away, struggled again, came back to Jesus, and has become committed. When we see him, we always say “Hello”, and he has begun to respond. He is shy and quiet. This morning when we said “Hello” and asked how he was, he responded, “Blessed!”. My Wow!.

You see, sometimes I need a little reminding to find my blessed. I need to remember that in all things and through all things, God is blessing me. Numbers 6:24-26, “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace”. When I’m praying and singing I’m a little different. I like to raise my face, and feel the sun and light. Even with my eyes closed, I can feel His warmth and light. I can feel God’s face shining on me. I can only imagine how it will be some day standing face-to-face with Him. This image is a blessing. This knowledge is a blessing.

Watching my grandson this morning, I am reminded again and again how blessed I truly am. At one time, I thought my heart wanted many grandchildren. God knew my heart needed this one. He is enough and is exactly what God knew would always be what I needed.

Ephesians 1:3 says “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,”. God loved us so much he chose us. He sent His son, Jesus, to die for us. He knows how to give us every blessing if we trust Him. He called this gentleman. He stood by him each time he struggled, held his hand, and wrapped him in His love. Now this man realizes he has found his blessed. I am the same as this man. My addictions are different. My struggles are different, my blessed is the same. His grace and mercy.
