Freedom…7-4-25
Freedom…7-4-25

I saw a poll where only 41% of Americans said they were proud to be an American. Today is Independence Day. Roughly 85% of Americans will celebrate. I can do simple math and that means a good portion of those who are not “proud” to be an American will use this day. They will enjoy a day off work, paid. Many will participate in social gatherings, fireworks, BBQ, and fellowship with whomever they want to be with.

It takes me some time to write my blog because I spend time in thoughtful consideration, inward prayer, to find the verse, image, and words. This morning when I posted the blog, all the words from yesterday except one line were gone. I am taking that as God wanted me to have a do-over. Think about it again.

I love being an American. Many of my family members served. I have the freedom to differ with others and understand we can all freely express our opinions in a civilized manner. Our country allows us to work where we want, choose any career, buy what we decide is best for us, and believe.

Galatians 5:1, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” I can believe and accept Christ. I can take my Bible out in public and read. I can go to church without fear. I can bow my head at a restaurant and pray. That is the freedom America allows me, but through Christ I enjoy. I do not have anyone placing requirements on my service or worship. Through Christ, I am free. I am proud to be an American. I am grateful that I am His.
