He Is A Good God…9-14-25

Last night, we were honored to attend a birthday celebration for a little boy who is deeply loved. This little boy turned 3. He is at the feet of Jesus. I can picture him laughing and smiling.

Every birthday, we gather and release balloons. The first and second year, my grandson was with us. Yesterday, he was supposed to go, but plans changed. Even at his age, he will tell you this little boy is in Heaven. He understands the love Jesus has for children, for us. He understands the love that we all have for this little boy.

As I watched the mom and dad, the grandparents, great-grandma, little sister, aunts, and cousins, I felt sadness, but I also felt peace. God in His infinite wisdom knows what we need. He also holds us together when what we love with our intense being, He needs with Him in Heaven. This family needed that little boy, but God had a special place for him.

I don’t and won’t ever pretend that I understand these things. I do understand that God loves us. He hears our cries. I think of Lazarus’ family. They grieved, and Jesus wept. He loved this family, just as He loves this little boy’s family, my family.

1 John 4:16 says, "And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them"

Yes, as the mom said last night when I thanked her for including us, “You are family.” We are all God's family. I believe that God knitted us together like a big sweater, all the yarn twisted and tied. He wraps us with His love, and we wrap each other with that love.

Jeremiah 31:3: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness"
