I’m not an Eyeore, I’m a Tigger…
I’m not an Eyeore, I’m a Tigger…

If you know me, and by now you should, you know one of my thorns is depression. I struggle from time to time. Usually, I can feel this building, I pray, and I seek strength from others occasionally. A sweet lady at church, who has my heart, told me one day, “You are not an Eyeore, you are a Tigger”. Oh my!!!

You see, I’m always bouncing around doing, but we don’t often think of the reality of what someone portrays is not always how they are inside. We don’t want others to see or know our inward struggles. We don’t want to “bother” people with our problems. Our God gives us those in our life to support, love, and encourage. However, that isn’t the replacement for going to Him. “It is not what we have in our life, but Who we have in our life that matters.”

I so want to be a Tigger, all the time, but God allows me to be an Eyeore, occasionally, to teach me. He humbles me, draws me closer to Him, and strengthens me. It is in my weakness, that God makes me strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-11, “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” I love my sweet friend. She is a Tigger, I will occasionally be her Eyeore.
