Life is Short…9-12-25

This man has been an influential figure in our lives for 44 years. He was married to my sister who passed away in January. I am ashamed to say that I haven’t seen him since Easter. He lives in a nearby town. We took our grandson and met him for dinner tonight. I miss those visits. He is our son’s godfather, and our oldest was named after him. His hugs are like a warm blanket that wraps you with a promise of unconditional love.

While visiting tonight, he mentioned twice “life is short”. The conversation was centered around those who don’t have a relationship with family for various reasons. James 4:14, "Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes".  We truly don’t know what tomorrow will hold. That makes salvation and our eternity even more imperative. We have so little time to turn to God before it is too late.

Life is short. Psalm 103:15-16, "As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field; for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more".
