Looking…10-24-25
Looking…10-24-25

This guy comes around often. He will slowly come around the side of the house, peek toward the swing where I normally sit, slowly move on, and make his way to his destination. He looks diligently around constantly. When he has found what he is looking for, he goes there rapidly.

The cat was gentling well until this morning. He came to eat and the thunder began. Thunder, rain, half scared cat all equals running to hide. We couldn’t find him the rest of the day. My husband saw him briefly once. He wouldn’t even meow back as he had done before. We looked for quite a while this morning and looked again tonight.

Often when we find ourselves looking and become so focused on the thing that we miss what is around us. We don’t have the intentional purpose as my friend above. We wander aimlessly looking as my husband and I did for the cat. When this happens, we miss blessings, we miss lessons, and we miss the meaning behind what God is trying to show us. We are too busy looking for what we think is important or where we are supposed to be.

Proverbs 4:25-27 says “Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.” We are to look straight ahead and focus on what is before us and intended for us. We are to be intentional about our actions and our lives. I am so thankful that God slows me down and causes my eyes to see His goodness.

Yes, the cat came back. Thank you, Jesus, for giving me eyes to see.
