Looking Forward…

This grandson has just begun fall soccer, started archery, and beat bouncers. He is always excited about what he is doing. He looks forward to my day to pick him up from school, coming to our house, and church on Sundays and Wednesday nights. His enthusiasm is contagious.
As children of God, we should be continually looking forward to blessings. Hebrews 11:1, "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." Our faith keeps us looking forward. I get excited just thinking about all the things God is doing at church, in my school, with our youth, and in my grandson. I get excited about all the blessings that God has provided, for which I don’t deserve. When my eyes are looking forward, it is hard to be discouraged or disappointed. Knowing that all things are provided by God, for His glory, and pointing toward the Kingdom, is what I hold to.
Philippians 3:13-14, “Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
