Multiply…

This is “The Plant”. If you read my blog, you know the story behind “The Plant”. When my friend and I brought this Curcuma home from Texas, it had two tubers, each had sprouted and were beautiful. We split the two plants, repotted each, and both have one on our front porch (minus any ride alongs). Now don’t look at the flower that has died, and left to break down and fertilize the soil. Don’t look at the eggshells that provide nutrients. Look at the four healthy sprouts from where one once stood. The plant has grown and multiplied.
You see, with proper nutrients, water, sunlight, and care, we grow. God’s word multiplies as we show His kindness, mercy, love, and spread the gospel to others. I’ve been reading through Paul’s travels spreading the gospel. Paul didn’t just listen to instructions about taking God’s word to all people, he acted upon those instructions.
Acts 2:46-47 describes Paul’s teachings and those being added to the saved. “Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.“. Although we don’t meet in the temple, we meet others. Although we don’t break bread with everyone, we are living daily the life of Christ. It is exciting to know that God is adding daily to those being saved. For me, it is exciting to know that Heaven will be overflowing with people praising God. I am saddened to think of anyone not being a part of this.
Matthew 28:18-20, “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”. I do not baptize, but I can tell others about Christ through my words and actions. I want Heaven’s saints to multiply.
