My Heart...My Face.

I have always been told my face tells everything I am thinking. You can read everything in my face. Over the years, I have learned to train myself to hide my thoughts by controlling my reactions and facial expressions. Sometimes, and I say sometimes, I am successful.
I believe our face expresses what is in our hearts. Think about this for a moment with me. When you are sad, even a child can look at your face and see it. They can see the heartache, the joy, the pain, the peace, the stress, and the love. When we feel joy as Christians, our facial expressions also relay this.
I have said on multiple occasions, if not daily how much I love my Jesus music. My commute to work involves worship, song service, prayers, sometimes tears, and raising my hands to praise my Lord. If you are in front of, behind me, or pass me on the highway, you will often see my hand raised, my mouth singing, sometimes tears rolling, but almost always a smile on my face. I have to remind myself to keep my eyes open. My heart is evident in my face. My friend and I attended an eWomen Conference not too long ago. What a joy and blessing to worship alongside her. Our faces tell a story of our hearts and the joy for the Lord. How can you think of God, His goodness, His mercies, His love, and His kindness, and not smile? How does a saved Child of God walk around with a frown grumbling?
Psalms 27:8-10 states, "My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek. Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger; you have been my helper. Do not reject me or forsake me, God my Savior. Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me." I love these verses. In this scripture, David is seeking God's face with his whole heart.
Now read the last part. "Though my father and mother forsake me, The Lord will receive me." David realizes that even if his family leaves him, the Lord will be his refuge and strength. My family did and my Lord did. When people say, "You don't have anything to be sad about or you wouldn't say this?" We all have struggles, pain, and fears. We all suffer. But if our hearts continually seek His face, then we will have His strength and His love. We can't help but express that peace and assurance to the world through our faces. I can't help but smile.
