Prince…10-19-25
Prince…10-19-25

My grandson was running for Fall Festival King with his classmate. He picked out his outfit. The theme was Sunday best. She had a blue dress. He wanted a tie. He asked many people to sponsor them. When the names were called for the winner, he was excited for those students. He said, “I feel like we were so close. I bet we were second.” That was exactly how I hoped he would respond to not winning, graciously and with optimism.

Just the word “Prince” brings peace, hope, optimism, and joy. Jesus is called “The Prince of peace” in Isaiah 9:6. In Revelations 1:5, Jesus is the “Prince of the kings of the earth.”

“from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.”

It is sad to me that there are two times of the year where people really acknowledge and point to Jesus, Christmas and Easter. But understanding He is our true salvation, peace, comfort, joy, and Savior is a moment by moment walk.

I am so grateful that my grandson sees optimism in loss. I am blessed that he is a Christian, and I pray he never loses his joy.
