Sealed…

I love to can and freeze nature’s bounty during the summer. It is part of my summer routine. Whether that be tomatoes, corn, okra, bean and peas of all kinds, peaches, jelly and jam, vegetable soup, salsa, rotel, pasta sauce, attempts at pickles, eggplant, zucchini, and a few other things in years past. This year, I’m adding tomato sauce and V8 juice. Some attempts have been successful, and I continue to can those vegetables or fruits. Other recipes or canned foods have been sadly once and done items NEVER to be tried again. After the jars are taken out of the canner to rest, I expectantly wait for the signature “pop” that tells me the jar has sealed. If this does not take place, then I put it in the fridge to enjoy sooner than later.
You see, just like my canned vegetables and fruits are sealed and that signifies the product is safe from harm, we are covered with a seal. We have that assurance of safety from harm through a seal as described in Ephesians 1:13, "In Him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit".
2 Timothy 2:19, “But God's firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.” I love the significance that we are under His seal, and He knows us. He knows me. This is our assurance of safety. He put that seal on me when I accepted Christ as my Savior. 2 Corinthians 1:22.
Just as my vegetables are sealed, and I must break the seal to open those, Revelations tells us who can break the seal. (Revelations 8:1). “When the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.” We have the assurance that we are covered under His seal. We will have a home in Heaven. I will never face uncertainty of a future home or safety as I once did. That was covered with His seal.
