Some Have and Some Don’t…

When our boys were at home, I used to do all the laundry. My husband didn’t particularly like the way I did his uniforms, thus began a new era in our marriage. He does his laundry, I do mine. When the boys were home, I did theirs, and I do the sheets. We have been married for close to forty years, and this has worked for us. Over the last couple of months, I have noticed my supply of washcloths has diminished. This morning I realized that I am down to four. I went to his closet. He has over 40. Yes, I counted. Yes, they are weathered and worn. Did I mention we have been married for close to forty years. When we discussed this, he stated, “There are some who have, and some who don’t.” Wow…
You see, what my mind goes to after my initial shock is this....It is my Savior, my Redeemer, and not these earthly posessions. There are some who have Salvation, there are some who do not. That is a choice. I heard someone say that in this world today it is hard to imagine that someone has never heard about Jesus. I don't know if that is true, but I know who was told to spread that gospel, you and I. Mark 16:15, "And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation."
If there has to be something others do not have, I don't want it to be Jesus. If there has to be those without, I don't want them without His love, guidance, and protection. I don't want them without His salvation. Every soul who does not have Jesus will spend an eternity in Hell. John 12:48, "The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day." Those who hear His name and reject Him will face that judgment. It is ultimately their choice to have or have not, no one can take that salvation away from them. (Unlike my washcloths!) It is ultimately our choice to spread that Gospel. But, but if we are called by His name, we have the responsibility to spread His name. 2 Corinthians 5:20, "Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God."
