The Light…

Anytime I'm outside, I like to turn my face to the sun and feel the warmth. In my mind's eye, I can see Jesus smiling down. In the warmth, I can feel His love. I have been outside on duty this week. Now, what better week could I have for lunch duty. It has been beautiful, mostly sunny, a slight wind yesterday, and today just a few clouds moving in and out. I felt the sun peek outside of the clouds. I looked up to see this. Quickly, I retrieved my phone and captured this image.
Proverbs 4:18, "But the path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day"
In this frame, I see storm clouds gathering. I see the dark clouds moving in, but I see the light pushing through. That is life. There will always be times when dark clouds move in and threaten to overtake the light. There will be times when the light seems gone. When life seems so enundated with darkness that we cry out for the light to guide us. Just as if we grabbed a flashlight and turned it on in the midst of a storm, He is there. In truth, He has been there all along. He has been guiding the storms, dispelling the storm clouds as they dissipate one by one. (Don't you love that word, dissipate. It is one of my science words that the students learn to recognize as disappear.) The storm clouds dissipate, and the sun shines on us again. During those dark clouds, we are never alone. John 1:5, "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." Psalm 112:4, "Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous."
