The Water…

Everywhere I go and spend a couple of days, I have to find “my spot”. Where I can sit, watch the sunrise or set, feel God’s presence. Here, at this ranch house, there is a spot that you can see for miles. The little outdoor patio has a gas fire pit, some old wooden rockers, various other items, a few small trees surrounding the small yard, and a peace that permeates every pore. If time allowed, although it does not, I could sit here for hours with the wind blowing my hair, my cup of coffee, something to write on, my thoughts, and my God.
This morning as I was typing what I thought was to be my blog for today, something caught my eye. There was water on just one corner of the fire pit. It is not raining. I was out here last night with no water, it did rain a bit in different places yesterday, but none I know of here. The water was not present when I came out this morning.
Now, I always ask and want God to speak to me about what to write, the scriptures, the words. I want to always remember His message through my voice is the purpose in this. So why the water, on one edge? During this time period, there has been wind that has blown my hair and clothing with a steady intensity. Yet, the water remains.
You see, sometimes things, events, people will come into in our life. They will stay with us for a short time, sometimes longer, and then will be gone. Each person, event, thing, or specific place serves a purpose God has. After all, He does orchestrate everything.
Do I know what God is telling me here, not exactly? I just know within me the words “Holy Water” seeps into my brain and stays when I look at this in front of me. Holy Water that is Life giving, means eternity, and at one point our earthly life will end as our Spirit is taken to our Father.
Like the water from the rock on Horeb, Moses struck the rock which produced water for the Israelites thirst. The Holy Water quenches the thirst within our souls. We have to guard that spirt as directed in 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22 “ Do not quench the Spirit, do not utterly reject prophecies, but examine everything; hold firmly to that which is good, abstain from every form of evil.”
John 7:37-38, “ In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” As I sit here, some hour and a half later, the water is still present. It’s already over 80 degrees and will be hot. But, within me the spirit is present, given by God, directed by Him, and all I pray is that I glorify Him. I will guard the Water within.
