Gray...

I let my hair go completely gray about five years ago. I love the color in the front. It is snow white with almost silver. The underside however is dirty gray with some black stands and a myriad of shades. Oh, I have thought of coloring, but it would be often. It would also be quite costly as my hair grows quickly.
You see, life is like my gray hair. There are shades that are easily seen and parts that are hidden. Parts that we want all to see. But, there is a part that we know only God sees, and is washing white as snow with His love and mercy.
There is a couple that I know that their devotion is evident. I heard someone make a comment a week ago that he has complete trust in them. He was referring to his belief that what they would do was prayed about and in God’s will. I have thought a lot about that statement this past week. Do others see me in that same way? Do they know, when they hear my name associated with planning an event, leading a group, serving on a team, or in any capacity, that they have full trust I have prayed and am serving for God? Proverbs 12:22 states: "Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who deal truthfully are his delight."
Everything I do in ministry is with pray and direction? There is no gray area. Everything I say and type, I try to do with love and kindness. I seek direction from God and then multiple people before I plan or bring new ideas to life. My pastor is one of those. I value his guidance. I want to be completely in God’s will. I want to serve. I have come to the point in my service that I understand the importance of being in God’s will and going out on my own. I desire that others are served through anything my hands or heart touches.
My point is this. Do others look at me with complete trust that I am in His will? Or, do others see some white as snow, but question the gray underneath? And lastly, does it matter if others question our authenticity?
Proverbs 11:3:
"The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity."
2 Corinthians 2:17:
"For we are not, as so many, peddlers of God's word. But as men of sincerity, as from God, we speak in Christ in the sight of God."
