A New Day…

Growing up, and until a few years back, I didn’t understand when people would talk about it’s a new day. Oh, I know what that means that each day is a new day with it’s new set of challenges and blessings. But so many times, each day becomes a continuation of the previous with the same routines, habits, people, issues, and fears. I never looked at each new day in the sense of putting behind what was and looking to new lessons in my walk with Jesus.
You see, as I look at the sun rise and feel the warmth spread my face, I am reminded that his mercies and graces are new every morning. Psalm 5:3, “In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.”
To truly understand Jesus’ love and forgiveness, we have to understand that we are coming to Him with open arms and asking forgiveness, crucifying Him daily. Waiting on Him with a total reliance of His guidance. Giving Him those sins and giving Him the glory. We lay worries and fears at His feet each day.
In my heart, I don’t want to see Him on that cross. But that is a part of my daily turning to God. I understand that He loves me, and I recognize what God sacrificied for me. Lamentations 3:22-23: "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."
