Anticipation...1-22-26
Anticipation...1-22-26

Over the last week, many children across America have been anxiously anticipating the upcoming winter storm. The news has repeatedly given updates on amounts, areas affected, temperatures, and preparation advice. The students have talked endlessly and asked questions about when, how much, and "Do you think we will get snow?" One school near me even turned out school at 12:30 on Friday in anticipation. The stores were flooded with adults who needed that last loaf of bread, gallon of milk, eggs, and water. Propane tanks were filled in anticipation of power outages, wood stocked, and the needs of animals addressed. I have watched this in amusement, wonder, and yes, anticipation as well. I do love a good snow.

Every preacher and man of God throughout the world that understands and reads God's word is urgently preparing God's people for His return. He is teaching, preaching, and spreading the anticipation of God's return. Matthew 24:36, "“But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only." Every Christian is anticipating the return of Jesus. Titus 2:13, "Waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,"

You see, we all look to the Heavens in anticipation of snow, and dread for sleet and freezing rain. Yet, many ignore the signs, scripture, Biblical teaching, and all the warnings to prepare for Jesus' return. A snow storm will last for only a short time, yet many refuse or fail to prepare for an eternity in either Heaven or Hell. My husband would call this priorities. I call this sad. It makes me sad inside that many will perish because of their refusal or lack to heed the warnings, come to Jesus, and spend eternity with Him. Matthew 18:4, "In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish."

Yes, I love snow and anticipate more today and tomorrow. But, my excitement and continued anticipation is in His return. In seeing my Savior's face and spending a lifetime in His presence.
