Breaking Free…

My husband sent me this image yesterday. The gate entering a hay meadow from the pasture. Obviously, the cows had a serious need to get to the fresh grass. Immediately, I thought of our need to break free from so many of life’s circumstances and situations.
You see, we are similar to these cows. When barriers exist, we often don’t know how to cope with the walls that surround us. We struggle with the situations and challenges. We seek to free ourselves with any means possible. We become overwhelmed and look for any escape to get to what we see as greener pastures. Psalm 8:36, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
Often these barriers are sin. When sin separates us from God, we can’t know his peace. We can’t see that His hands are ever present. Through His grace and forgiveness, through His son, we break through. We break free of sin. When He sets us free, we are truly free, forever. We have His spirit and He breaks down the gates for us. 2 Corinthians 3:17, “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
