Deceptively Beautiful…7-15-25

There are many things in this world that I have a healthy fear of and snakes are at the top. I was bitten as a child. I will hurt myself trying to get away if someone even tells me one is present. I don’t have to see it to dislike. That being said, I can see the beauty in the patterns. After all, God did create every living thing. Genesis 1:24, “Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping things and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so.”

I have found that this week has taught me that I don’t like scorpions either. I don’t like them in my bathroom. and I sure don’t like them in my bed. Lavender is supposed to be a scent they dislike. Wrong! I slathered in it and that didn’t help. The next night one was in my bed under my covers. They like dark. So, I tried sleeping with the light on. That didn’t help either. Still they are here. I found out they drop from the ceiling, crawl on the floor, go up the legs of chairs, beds, and walls. They like to take a bath, or at least that is what it seems as they are always in and around the tubs.

I hold on to this scripture from Luke 10:19, “Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.”. I know God made all things. I also know that He won’t mind me asking about why scorpions!
