Eastern Sky...12-11-25
Eastern Sky...12-11-25

This morning when I left for work, God's beauty was on full display. I looked to the east as I walked out of my house, and I was immediately struck with an image that was only created by the Master's paintbrush. I have heard the old saying before, "Red sky at night, Sailor's delight", but there is another version that is so appropriate for this time of year. It just simply says, "Red sky at night, Shepherd's delight.". How beautiful is that? I can imagine in my mind's eye Shepherd's in the quiet evening, or early morning looking up to the sky with wonder. The colors vibrant in the sky with streams of orange, pink, red, blue, and gray peeking through and around the gathering clouds. I know the rest of the saying is a warning of impending storms, but I can't see anything in the image above but the beauty of God. I see the electric pole in the image and from a distance, it looks like a cross.

I also see something else in this image above. I see the bright light begin to intrude through the colors. I can imagine this as God's splitting that Eastern Sky on his return. What a magnificent glory to behold when that day comes. Revelations 6:14, "The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place." Zechariah 14:4, "On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south."

I know that my redeemer will come in His magnificent glory. I know that the Heavens will roll back and I shall see Him. But for now, for now I will dream of that day. I will look to the sky and see His light.
