Eggs = Smiles…

A friend of mine often brings me eggs. She will wait until she has a case or two and send me a text for drop-off. She knows I take them to church to share. Yesterday, she texted me she had some and could she head my way. “Absolutely!” I said. When she arrived, she unloaded a case, and another, and a third. I was so excited.
You see, these are double yolk, farm fresh, and delicious. The main thing, I get to share. I sent the word out on our church info page to bring your cartons. It didn’t take long before we were able to give to as many as wanted. I don’t know if there was anyone who wanted eggs, but didn’t get them. I just know there were smiles everywhere.
Now, before you say that maybe I’m seeing things. I had a person come to me after church telling me the same thing. She saw so many smiling faces to receive the small things in eggs. What all this tells me is that we are blessed by small gestures. God blesses us with things we didn’t even know were blessings. Eggs. One person said she had cookies to make and was gong to have to go buy some, now she did not. Another told me about her fruitcake she needed to prepare. Another said she had a little one who had eggs every morning for breakfast. It isn’t the eggs, it is the conversation. The one-on-one small conversations that a dozen eggs brings. It is the love from a church family that leaves my heart full.
Galatians 6:10, "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers."
