Even The Birds...5-31-25

In the spring, summer, and fall, in the early morning and evening, you will find my husband and I sitting in our swings on our front porch. Peaceful, quiet, and comfortable. As this routine continues, I notice certain animals will become comfortable with my presence and go about their routines without worry or fear.

Over the past month, this guy will slip up beside the house and I will see him in the corner of my eye. He will come from behind the house into my full field of vision. As I slowly turn, he will stop, look at me out of one eye, and then proceed on with his business. His routine is always the same. His path is designated and purposeful. Our morning meeting and quiet companionship is expected and welcomed.

I read this translation of Psalm 23, "The Lord is my constant companion. There is no need that He cannot fulfil." Think about those words. The Lord is my constant companion. My Wow moment today. I just shut my mouth and smile. You see, just as the bird in this image has developed a quiet companionship knowing that I am present, so has my relationship with God. I have come to know He is present at all times. I talk to Him like a friend. As our relationship with God develops, we begin to trust and welcome His constant unwavering presence. We welcome and look forward to the knowledge He is our comfort and He is our source of strength.
