Today is my grandson’s first day of 4th grade. The time had literally flown by. He is excited about this year, and I pray for God’s guidance. I pray for loving teachers who are patient and kind. I pray for listening ears. I pray for friends who will include him and love him. I pray he will grow in the spirit as he matures. I pray that he will enjoy each moment.

As he grows, my prayers for him change. The things I once thought were important, don’t matter as much anymore. Those things have been replaced and evolved. That’s what happens in life. As we mature in God’s grace, our prayers mature. We learn to pray differently. We learn to truly rely on God’s will and pray for specific guidance. We understand the difference in our wants and desires, and God’s desires for us. We understand to truly have peace in any circumstance.

2 Peter 3:18, “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.”
