My grandson loves to draw. I am partial, of course, and think he is pretty talented. He drew this for a local art show. When I first saw this, I immediately noticed the eyes. Now, I know that this is only a drawing, but I can see character, emotion, care, and wistfulness. If it were living, I would say Jeff is sad.
Occasionally, my grandson will tell me that he is sad. He will talk about wanting to be happy. When I ask him why he is sad, most of the time, he will say that he doesn't know. Jeff, is sad. I talk to my grandson about the joy and peace that comes with being in God's hands, in His care. He is saved. But I don't think he fully understands joy and peace. I don't think he understands prayer. I pray for that for him. I have a friend who is struggling with joy as well. I think of her and pray for the joy that only comes with God.
Philippians 4:7: "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus"
This has been a hard week for my grandson. He is learning a life lesson. I hope years from now, he will look back and see God's masterful plan. I pray for his peace. I pray for his joy.
