My husband...5-22-25
My husband...5-22-25

My husband was reading a meme last week and it said, "The fine print at bottom of a marriage license should read, "Disclaimer: You will wind up in the poor house when you get married'. He said that should be part of the marriage vows because nobody tells you that. To this, I said, "Ain't that the truth!" Well 43 years later, that meme is true. We are poorer now than we were 38 years ago today when we married. I said 43 years because we literally dated for 5 years prior to getting married and I'm counting every minute. The poorer part is monetary and we both own that one.

You see, when we married, he told me that he didn't marry with any thought that if this didn't work out we can divorced. We married with the understanding it was for the long haul. We were both saved and we knew we needed Him in our life. Yes, there were times of struggles and trials. One time I came close to breaking that promise of never wanting to go our seperate ways. That was about 9 years in and we didn't give in to that temptation to call it quits.

Ephesians 5:32:

"I am referring to husbands and wives. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave himself up for the church, offering himself to cleanse it, to make it holy, to set it apart for himself."
