Our Journey…
Updated: Jun 13

It never ceases to amaze me, (wait, stop here for a second. There are two phrases that I use all the time, one is "you see" and the other is, "It never ceases to amaze me", or "I never cease to be amazed." So let me pick up where I left off. It never ceases to amaze me that in any place or any circumstance, I see God. Yesterday, while sitting in a meeting, that I am going to say I didn't particularly want to attend. You see, this week is VBS at church. That is where my heart is with my Pre-K and Kinder kiddos singing songs, eating snacks, going through a lesson, and making crafts. That is where I would love to be; however, work does not always allow us to do what we want. Sometimes, we are required to be at other places and we have to make a difficult choice. I had to be at work. So, as I was sitting in the required meeting, listening to the speaker and trying to focus. (I am a squirrel and my mind wanders.) A series of words were presented on the screen. This word was on the screen before me, Journey. I immediately see the word inside Journey, "OUR".
You see, life is our journey. It is no coincidence that God gives small visuals as we walk our path. He shows us His plan in small pieces to guide us and direct us. Psalm 16:11, "You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore." When we stray, he lovingly corrects us. I never ceased to be amazed that I see God in everything. When I look at a word and my mind turns to God directing our journey, I know He is working inside me. I know He is strengthening me for the journey he has for me. It will be my journey, it will be "our" journey as life continues. I know so many who take life at face value. This week I have prayed along with so many as a dear friend's mother went to see Jesus. She is now walking with our Father. Her journey has taken her to God's arms. Her journey is complete. Our journey is still unfolding before us, and it is up to us to turn to God and allow Him to make known to us our path.
