Raindrops From Heaven…

I love to watch the clouds gather, the breeze begin, direction of the wind change, and slow steady drops fall. My favorite spot, on my front porch, gives way to peaceful rhythmic swaying of my swing as the sky lets loose raindrops from Heaven. I see and hear the sounds that leave memories strolling through a quiet place. Sometimes these memories are of times and places that bring joy, but at other times these memories bring sadness just like the raindrops are tears being shed. My eyes grow misty, my heart tightens, and my skin tingles. Sometimes it becomes harder to breath as memories flood my soul. Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
No, nothing is wrong specifically. Sometimes, I feel His presence reminding me that “It is well”, at just the right time, the right moment. That brings tears to my eyes, because I am overwhelmed at the understanding of His depth of love for me. I am humbled that He knows just when I need His reminder of that love. His raindrops come when I don’t know myself that it is He that I am seeking within my soul. It is His goodness and mercy that flows over me to prepare me for what comes next. His grace covers me to shield and protect me from the unseen. I can truly say “Make it well” for I know that I just need Him as “He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10.
