The Tree...5-27-25
The Tree...5-27-25

There was an elderly lady who I met 20 years ago. She was a custodian at our Middle School. Everybody called her Granny Little, even the ones of us who just met her. She was giving and kind. Her spirit was one that you are drawn to and her love for those around her was evident and genuine. She would bring seedlings off her Indian Peach Tree to everyone as soon as they sprouted. She gave me one and I planted it. That tree in this photo is almost 20 years old. It had begun to lose branches and lost two major ones in a recent storm. It gives off seconds every year in the ground beneath the branches. She gave me many and I gave my mother-in-law a seedling many many years ago. Both of our trees always have branches that are loaded with fruit. That tree is a symbol of her life. She went to be with Jesus in March of 2021 at 88 years old.

Matthew 7:16-20 says "A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Therefore by their fruits you will know them." Granny was known for the fruit she bore. Her love and compassion was truly a testament to God. What does my tree look like? What about yours? Will my tree be standing for Him long after I'm gone out will it fade as quickly as I do?
