The Tree...

My grandson and I put up my tree together each year. This is our 8th year to do this. The first year only included a few ornaments that could be put on at the height of a one year old or maybe a little higher by lifting him up. He enjoys this, as do I. Yes, most of the time the ornaments are too close together. I don't move them. What would that tell him? He loves them in their place, and so do I.
The little things that we do together are the things that will live in his memory, and mine. We do something else together that is more important than everything else, we go to church together. Since he was very young, we have been faithful. He has literally grown up in those rooms. He loves his church family. He loves Children's Church, Sunday School, helping with the Food Pantry, music, VBS, and church camp last summer. We have packed OCC boxes, eaten Fellowship meals, and he has occasionally ended up in the sound room or Bible Study with me. He told me today that he can't wait to go to church camp again next year. I pray he always remains involved in church and ministry.
