What makes you happy?

While watching the superbowl yesterday, there's was a commercial that asked a question. What makes you happy? Of course, that had my brain working. As humans, what makes us happy? What do we define as happy? Is it money, family, relationships, careers, or health?

Happiness is defined as a feeling of joy and contentment. Romans 15:13 says "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.". The thing about happiness or joy is where it comes from.

You see, there are so many earthly things we can use to bring us joy. But the joy will not last. It will come and go as quickly as the worldly things we seek. When we look to our Father, we know Heaven awaits. We know as we put our faith and trust in God, our joy will flow like in the old hymnal "Joys are flowing like a river, Since the Comforter has come; He abides with us forever, Makes the trusting heart His home." I know where our joy comes from. Yes, my husband, sons, grandson, and daughter, family and friends make me happy. But, oh the joy to see my Savior.
