White Out…
White Out…

I wish life had a "white-out" button, tape, or reverse switch. We often run at such a fast pace that we don't stop to enjoy and realize the blessings that God has given us. We need a reset. We need a "white-out". This is especially true when we do or say things that we know in our heart of hearts is not what God would want us to say or do. Now, before you begin to wonder what I did or said, let me just assure you that I probably do this every day, but there is nothing in particular that I need to confess. I saw the picture of this white out tape and it hit me. We need that in our life daily.

But, oh my friends, we have this! It is called the forgiveness of God. It is grace and mercy that God gives when we mess up or become so caught up that we don't stop ourselves. It is simply freely given, as we do not deserve it. Sometimes, we don't listen to the Holy Spirit as he warns of the impending doom, the problem that lurks ahead, or the quicksand that we just stepped into. He uses the white out, blots out our transgressions, and gives us a new start. Isaiah 44:22, "I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud and your sins like mist; return to Me, for I have redeemed you."

I have a friend who sings "Redeemed". I think of His redeeming grace when I see this white out. I think of the way He rolls His love over me, takes away all my mistakes, my missteps, and just makes me white as snow. He makes me new. I don't have to do anything, but love Him and ask for His forgiveness. This is not my license to sin. This is my white-out for all the sin that happens because we are human. The humanness of mankind is something we struggle against, but He gives us that strength. He covers us with His righteous right hand. He blots out our sins with His blood (the white-out), and makes us clean. Isaiah 43:25, "“I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.
