A Work of Art...

I saw this piece a week ago and had to take pictures. It is a conglomerate of old items discarded that were welded, screwed, taped, glued, and wedged together. That is our church and that is our lives. This is me!
You see, each of us comes to God with our broken and discarded parts. We come to Him in pieces that have been through the fire, burned, molded, broken, and thrown aside. He puts us back together. We are never the same. Thank you, Jesus, we aren't the same as before. We have parts that will never work again and we have pieces that work in a different more meaningful way. We embrace that. As Christians, we needed that and God knew.
Jeremiah 17:4 said, "Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise." In this scripture I see, take me and put me back together. I know you are the one I glorify. I know Who receives my praise.
But just like me and you, God brings a church together. He takes broken lives and scarred members and places them together to serve Him. Each with a supporting role. Each member is a unique section just like what some see as junk in the image above. But God doesn't see junk. He sees parts of a whole. Precious pieces that work together, depend on each other, are crucial to each other, and to spreading His word. I love the phrase "as iron sharpens iron". Proverbs 27:17.
Hebrews 10:24-25, "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." Romans 12:16, "Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited." Every member of God's church is essential. Every member is our family. Every member is God's child and our brothers and sisters. Every member is loved by the others. Every member is unique and supports the other members. I am so loved by just being a child of God.
